Do Your Homework

Before conducting any kind of interview, always do your homework. Be clear about your topic and prepare your questions earlier which you are going to ask. The better way is to practice your interview at home. During all your preparations, do not forget to do research on the interviewees. Knowing about the preferences of your candidates can increase the success rates of the interview. And it will help you out to ask questions accordingly. Planning an interview will also give the idea that how much time you are going to spend with each interviewee and it will help during the interview to make it concise and to the point.

Know How to Ease the Interviewee

One way to make your interview successful is to make your interviewee comfortable during the time of interview. If you have done your homework about the interviewee then probably you know his interests. So you can start with something that interests him and it will lead you to rapport developing with the interviewee and he will open up more easily. Listening to the interviewee makes him feel that his saying meant something and it encourages him to share more. Always communicate with the interviewee in his own language, it will make him comfortable and easy to express himself.

Ask Questions Carefully

The interview is all about questions but you have to be careful what kind of questions you are going to ask. The interview schedule is where you prepare your questions beforehand but in interview guide, you ask questions according to the situation. So in both cases, you should be careful about the questions which you are going to ask. Make sure you do not offend the interviewees in any way. Avoid asking personal questions especially the information they do not want to share. Watch your tone during the interviewing. Sound like you want their opinion not interrogating them.
